Will Warzone be closed in 2023?

As the community continues to express disappointment with the current state of Call of Duty, fans are wondering if Warzone will be discontinued in 2023.

Call of Duty: Warzone broke through in 2020 with Verdansk, elite movement, and a much more balanced weapon pool. Even with the addition of Warzone Ranked, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 now lacks the excitement and smooth gameplay of the original.

While recent leaks have provided a glimpse of the next Call of Duty title, they have failed to touch on Warzone’s future in 2023.

No, Warzone will not be closed in 2023. However, Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera will close on September 21, 2023. The original Warzone will no longer exist in September 2023.

Once Warzone Caldera closes, all skins from the original Warzone will be gone forever. Players will only keep their purchased Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard content in-game.

After the negative community reaction, Activision hinted that all weapons, operators, and bundles from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be carried over to the rumored Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The full reveal for Call of Duty 2023 comes in Warzone Season 5.
