Prince William attended a former girlfriend’s wedding today before enjoying a fun night out with friends – just days after his brother’s Netflix series launched an unprecedented assault on the royal family.

The Prince of Wales, 40, looked dapper in a black tuxedo and matching bow tie as he witnessed the wedding of Rose Farquhar, 38, in Gloucestershire.

The couple previously dated in 2000 after meeting at Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire after Wills finished his A-levels at Eton.

Rose is widely considered to be the prince’s first serious girlfriend. He dated several women at university before meeting his current wife Catherine, Princess of Wales in 2003.

Though their romance faltered, Rose and William have always remained on good terms and have often seen each other at society weddings over the years due to their mutual friends.

After dating William, Rose went to New York, where she studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute.

She is a singer-songwriter who performed on The Voice in the UK in 2016.

News of today’s wedding was announced in September, much to the delight of her father, Captain Ian Farquhar, former Beaufort Champion.

He previously told the Daily Mail of her daughter’s groom-to-be: “He couldn’t make a more charming son-in-law to look forward to.

“The Gemmells have been friends of ours for years. We are absolutely thrilled.”

George Gemmel is currently studying veterinary medicine and is the stepson of Barbados construction magnate Sir Charles Williams, who passed away last year.

Prince William’s outing comes after the second episode of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary on Thursday, which accused the king of “lying” and Wills of “yelling at” his brother.

It also accused Buckingham Palace staff of using Meghan as a “scapegoat” to distract the media from damaging stories about other royals.

The firm has so far decided not to comment on any of the allegations made in the six-part series.

The senior royals have shown a united front in the days since, reuniting for Kate’s Together At Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey just hours after it was last released.

And William would probably have jumped at the chance to spend a night out with childhood friends – including Guy Pelly, Prince Louis’ godfather.

The businessman and aristocrat was pictured among the guests tonight, also sporting a black tuxedo and bow tie.

The entrepreneur has run a number of nightclubs in London over the years including Mahiki in Kensington, Public, Whiskey Mist and Tonteria.

Described by some as a ‘party animal’ or a ‘court jester’, he has been close to Harry and William since childhood, having been the son of their mother Princess Diana’s good friend, Lady Carolyn Herbert.

Guy is believed to have organized Wills’ bachelor party in 2011 and some royal commentators feared he had the potential to prove a bad influence on the brothers.
