Gomes has been a regular for the Brazil side since his debut in October 2020 and has already won several awards at club level, including the Copa Libertadores.

He made 63 appearances for Flamengo in all competitions last season, scoring twice during that time. He managed to record the same number of assists.

However, Wolves have announced the signing of Pablo Sarabia from Paris St Germain for £4.4million.

The 30-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux before their reply with Liverpool in the FA Cup third round on Tuesday.

Sarabia, 30, was Spain U19 captain when Wolves coach Julen Lopetegui took charge.

Wolves have already loaned out Nice midfielder Mario Lemina and Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha during the January transfer window.
