Woman and child die after accident with Audi TT, which hits the wall of a car dealership

A woman and child have died after an Audi TT crashed into a Jaguar dealership wall.

Police were called just after 8.30am to a report that a white Audi had collided with the wall of the Vertu Jaguar Leeds car dealership in Scott Hall Road, Leeds.

Two people, a woman and a child, were found injured at the scene and initial investigations believe both were pedestrians who were hit by the car before it collided with the wall. Both were pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the Audi was taken to hospital and is being treated for injuries that are described as serious but not life-threatening. He’s under arrest.

Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of the Major Collision Inquiry Team said:

“This is an absolutely tragic incident and we are working to support the family of the woman and child affected.

“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but would like to speak to anyone else who witnessed the collision itself or the events leading up to it.

“We would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision to check their dashcam footage.”
