Woman holding the H&M

Everyone loves a bargain, especially when it’s a brand new item that comes with a coveted designer tag.
That’s certainly how Wilglory, a self-confessed New York “fashion girl”, felt when the Mugler H&M collection was released earlier this month.
She was so determined to get the looks from the luxury fashion house founded by Thierry Mugler in 1973 that she queued for 90 minutes for a 10-minute shopping spree, which cost her $2,300.
She then used TikTok to share her purchases with nearly 8,000 followers, trying on each outfit one by one for her fans on the social media platform.
However, she faced critical comments and later admitted she had returned most of the items after being “harassed” by TikTok followers who said everything was “ugly”.

US fashionista Wilglory spent £1,800 collaborating with Mugler H&M but later returned most of her haul after other TikTokers questioned her choices on the platform

Wilglory was initially impressed with the design and workmanship of this blue corset mini dress, which she paired with gold platform shoes
In the Videowhich has been viewed 324,000 times, Wilglory reveals she spent $2,300 on the fashion collaboration.
But despite her lively intros and detailed descriptions, other TikTokers were unenthusiastic about her six-minute runway show.
The first outfit she tried on was a little black mini skirt over patterned tights and a blazer that has a tighter waist thanks to corsets.
While Wilglory herself was skeptical about this particular look due to the size, she was much more positive about the second look – a one-shoulder, colorful mini dress.
Next, she tried on black bootcut pants, but unfortunately she had no choice but to back down when one of the seams ripped.
Not ready to write the collection off anytime soon, however, Wilglory took the opportunity to praise both the quality and design of the collaboration for her next purchase – a bright blue corseted mini dress.
“It’s not a fast fashion finish at all, and it’s definitely not a fast fashion product in terms of design complexity,” she said.
But while there may have been other hits, including a black mesh T-shirt and black leather baseball cap, the consensus among her supporters wasn’t particularly positive.
Of the 515 comments posted under her video, a number couldn’t be further from the compliments Wilglory was hoping for.

The Mugler H&M collection is based on Mugler’s distinctive shapes, often achieved through shoulder pads and corsets

Cut-out designs are a recurring theme throughout the collection. This pink fitted ruffled dress is paired with patterned tights – another unique feature of the collaboration

Many of the pieces from the Mugler H&M collaboration, including these denim and jersey skinny jeans, are almost identical to the pieces from Mugler’s high-end collection – but cost a fraction of the price
One comment, which received more than 1,700 likes, read: “I’m really sorry but return everything but the yellow dress and save the coins.”
Another, who garnered even more likes, was barely more tactful: “I don’t like any of that about you and I think you’re beautiful and your body is pounding, that just didn’t do it for me.”
While a third simply said, “The clothes didn’t do you justice!” You are beautiful! You just missed the target.’
However, others tried to be more constructive with their comments.
One TikToker wrote: “The pieces have potential just the way you styled them.”

Many of those who commented on Wilglory’s post encouraged her to give everything back. Others, however, praised her, and one even called her a “trendsetter”.
And others bucked the trend, taking the opportunity to praise Wilglory for everything from her physique to her status as a trendsetter.
‘Damn, am I the only one who liked all the pieces?’ It’s a visionary and a trendsetter.’
But with a later video showing Wilglory returning $1,438.48 worth of clothing and accessories to H&M, it’s clear the kind comments came too little and too late.
She wrote: “I returned most of my H&M mugler collection because the TikTok girlies bullied me and said it was ugly.”
