Woman reveals boyfriend dumped her when he found out she had plastic surgery

A woman has revealed her boyfriend broke up with her after discovering she’d had plastic surgery long before the pair even met – and insisted “not a real man” to be with anyone wants that is not “natural”.

The woman took to Reddit to open up about her boyfriend’s incredibly negative reaction to her plastic surgery – and asked if she was an asshole for not revealing to her partner that she had previously gone under the knife.

Going by the username MaxineLu7, the 26-year-old, who has had both a rhinoplasty and a breast job, posted to members of the social platform that her boyfriend stormed out of the room when he found out about her procedures, telling her that he needed the relationship “rethink”.

In a thread titled, “Am I the asshole?” she revealed she had been dating her boyfriend Max, 25, for four months before describing the moments leading up to their split.

The woman, whose name is MaxineLu7, took to Reddit to ask if she was an asshole for not sharing her “first date” procedures.

She began by having nose surgery when she was 22 after breaking her nose multiple times as a child, adding that she also had to undergo breast augmentation, sharing it was an “insecurity” of hers .

“I had a nose job when I was 22 as I broke my nose twice as a child and it left a big lump.

“Then, at 23, I had a breast augmentation, which made me two cup sizes taller. Those were lifelong insecurities that I was bullied about and it was really relieving to get over them,” she explained.

Describing the moments when she realized she had “dodged a bullet,” she said, “So far I’ve met Max through a friend and things have been great. Last night I strolled through my social media with him on the sofa.

“I stopped at an old vacation photo of a classmate where she was in a bikini and to be honest she had very obvious implants (she looks great, lucky for her! But it shows.)

‘Max looked over at that moment and said “Gross”. I asked him what the deal was and he said that women getting implants or other surgeries represent a major dislike to most men and that men prefer natural over two balloons and how unsafe it looks.

“I couldn’t help but laugh and said, ‘So you’re put off by me?’

“He was very confused and asked what I meant. I informed him that I had had procedures before.

“He kept denying it and saying I was joking until I showed him old photos of me.

She later updated her post to reveal her boyfriend had changed his mind and asked to meet up – but she realized he wasn’t right for her and ended things once and for all

“He became quiet and left shortly after. I got a text saying I should have disclosed that on the first date as I guided him and that he needs to reconsider things.

“It’s the next day. I didn’t hear anything, I’m confused,’ she said.

Reddit users were quick to come to their defense, slamming the man for his “shallow” mindset, while others branded his behavior a “red flag.”

Other users advised the woman to drop him, adding that she “dodged a bullet” and said she was “lucky.”

“You were lucky that he showed you this side after four months. You could have gotten married before you found out he was so shallow/misogynistic,” wrote one user.

One user said: “His expectations of first date disclosure are ridiculous. You have a right to privacy and he can’t judge you on your choices until he knows you better.’

Another added: “You don’t have to reveal anything about medical things (even if you only did it for aesthetic reasons). When you feel great about your looks, that’s the only thing that matters. And if he loved you, he wouldn’t mind that you wanted the surgeries for your own good. Who shall judge? He is not. Only you are.’

“His reaction and comment that you ‘should have said that on the first date’ makes him childish,” commented one user.

Reddit users were quick to come to their defense, slamming the man for his “shallow” mindset, while others branded his behavior a “red flag.”

Another user criticized Max and other men for claiming they want a “natural woman” without realizing what that means.

“Reminds me of all those men who share pictures of women with a full face of makeup that’s ‘beachy’ or ‘natural’ and then claim they only like women who don’t wear makeup.” commented one user.

After receiving over 1,000 comments from users who were infuriated by Max’s behavior, the woman posted an update on the situation.

She revealed Max took a U-turn on the breakup, eventually texting her and asking to meet up, before adding that input from Reddit users made her realize “he’s not the partner.” [she’s] Looking for.’

The woman then gave another update, sharing that Max had texted her and left her after revealing she was upset by his “misogynistic” comments.

Max said: “I had hopes that we could make an honest start, but I think only one of us is mature enough to see past the other’s shortcomings in the relationship.

“I’m glad you revealed that about yourself before I got too involved. Goodbye, good luck finding someone because no real man would respect someone who couldn’t even respect their own body.’

And while the woman may be out of a relationship, she noted that she’s “happy” with her “natural and unnatural parts,” adding that she’ll find someone “who doesn’t have a lot of issues with cosmetic surgery.”
