Woman who used racial abuse outside a cocktail bar is a married mother of two

A married mother of two who broke into a racist finger poke while exiting an upscale cocktail bar can be exposed as accountant Justine Morrison.

The 51-year-old lives with her husband and two daughters on farmland outside of Halifax in West Yorkshire and had worked with Shine Theater Arts, a local children’s dance school.

It was reported that they fired her after video of her appalling behavior went viral on social media.

Ms Morrison has admitted the offenses and accepted a conditional warning that includes attending a restorative justice program and accepting responsibility for her actions.

When asked by MailOnline, a Shine spokeswoman said: “This is all really, really annoying. I was told by the police not to comment on this. I can not say more.’

In the video, Ms Morrison, wearing a blue blouse, says to the bouncer: “Oh my god, you must be so proud. You work on a door,” she clapped her hands to mock applause.

A man standing behind her, believed to be her husband Anthony, tells her, “Come on, let’s go.”

Before walking away, she points her finger at the bouncer and says, “You black man.”

As she walks away, stumbling on her heels, she turns and spits out the word ‘black’ before continuing: ‘That’s why you get a name. Black.’

The video was posted to Facebook by a user named Dally Whylie, who said: “Love the first week after Christmas at the door. May I please make it clear that the dance class is no longer brilliant with this woman and the dance school should not be affected in any way?’

It has been shared over 4,300 times, with most appalled by her attitude.

Laura Corrigan wrote: “Can’t believe this is still happening in 2023 disgusting! What a role model for her two daughters.”

While Karen Holt wrote, “No doubt she will say she is not racist and say that her third cousin has a black friend on her husband’s side.”

And Heidi Molloy scoffed: ‘I wonder if she’s clapping her hands now, oh you must be so proud Justine… I hope you enjoyed your night in the cells.’

Police confirmed that a woman had been arrested and held over the weekend on suspicion of racially aggravated public disorder.

West Yorkshire Police said: “A 51-year-old woman has been arrested and questioned in connection with an incident involving racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress which took place on Friday 6 January at the Vine Bar in of Stainland Road, West Vale, Halifax.

“She admitted to the offenses and received a conditional warning as a result of the conditional criminal justice system.

“This includes participating in the restorative justice program and accepting responsibility for their actions.”

Ms Morrison is believed to be the daughter of a retired police officer.

It shows a love for Jersey and family holidays abroad.

The incident happened at the Vine cocktail bar in the Greetland area of ​​Halifax.

Bar owner Lynda Gionotti released a statement after the incident, saying staff were “really appalled,” “shocked” and “sad” by the abuse.

The statement read: “All staff and management at Vine are genuinely appalled by the behavior of the customer who racially abused our bouncer last Friday night.

“This type of behavior towards our staff will not be tolerated and we are grateful that West Yorkshire Police acted quickly and decisively.

“Unfortunately, abuse of hospitality staff is a problem that needs to be eradicated. No one should have to go to work and endure abuse, it’s just not acceptable.’
