WWE legend Triple H leads reaction to former AEW Champion Jade Cargill signing multi-year deal with company: ‘Here to change the game’

Following the announcement of former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill’s signing to WWE, she was welcomed to the company by WWE legend and Chief Content Officer Triple H and many others.
“A dominant athlete here to change the game… Join me in welcoming the newest @WWE Superstar, @Jade_Cargill, to the @WWEUniverse,” Triple H tweeted.
Cargill’s move to WWE was officially announced by the company on Tuesday following the recent expiration of her contract with All Elite Wrestling.
Triple H wasn’t the only well-known member of the wrestling universe to take to social media after the news broke, as several other prominent figures from WWE, AEW and more sent messages to congratulate her.
WWE breakout star Grayson Waller tweeted: “What better way to get to know the WWE Universe than by appearing on the hottest talk show in the industry – The Grayson Waller Effect #GWEffect.”

WWE legend and CCO Triple H was one of many who reached out to X to respond to the big signing
Current AEW star and former FTW champion Ricky Starks – a known close friend of Cargill – posted a moving emoji in a tweet before posting a picture of himself and Cargill smiling together and captioning it, “Proud !” captioned.
WWE ring announcer Kayla Braxton wrote: “Welcome Jade! I can’t wait to interview you!’ along with three emojis that replaced the eyes of a smiling face with stars.
WWE backstage interviewer Cathy Kelly posted “You’re not ready for @Jade_Cargill” along with three emojis.
USA Network, which airs several WWE programs weekly, tweeted: “HUGE news! Welcome to @WWE, @Jade_Cargill.”
Pro Wrestling Illustrated said, “This is a big deal for WWE: PWI’s 2021 Rookie of the Year, No. 5 in the 2022 #Womens150, Ms. @Jade_Cargill.”
Cargill was AEW’s first ever TBS Champion, holding the title for 508 days. She won the belt on January 5, 2022 before losing the title on May 28, 2023.

The 31-year-old made her in-ring debut in a high-profile mixed tag match in March 2021, teaming with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal to take on Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet.
It’s still unclear whether Cargill will be added directly to WWE’s main roster and featured on either “Monday Night Raw” or “Friday Night Smackdown,” or whether she will be featured on NXT, the company’s developmental brand.
Rumors of Cargill’s move to WWE began about two weeks ago when she made a shocking return to face TBS Champion Kris Statlander – the woman who defeated Cargill for the title.
She then wrestled her final match on AEW, which aired on September 13, where she lost to Statlander before sharing an emotional hug after the match.
Combative selection had reported that Cargill appeared to hug several players on the squad goodbye after the game.
