Xbox Direct Showcase is coming this month

A new report claims that Xbox will be holding a Developer Direct later this month that will feature new information on the brand’s upcoming games.

The report comes via Windows Central, with sources saying it will be Xbox’s first Developer Direct. The show has yet to be officially announced, but is rumored to air on January 25, although the date could change.

Windows Central claims the show is hosted by both Xbox and Bethesda and will feature titles like Redfall, Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport and content from ZeniMax Online Studios. In particular, the upcoming Bethesda role-playing game Starfield is said to be missing from the Direct Edition.

While the studio has reconfirmed that Starfield will be released in 2023, the window is still sometime in Q1 or Q2. Fans expecting an update to Starfield might be disappointed.

According to the outlet, the showcase will be more akin to a Nintendo Direct or PlayStation’s State of Play, offering an “intimate look at some upcoming exclusives.”

Xbox releases have been remarkably quiet in 2022, but perhaps this new Developer Direct could prompt the rollout of more regular updates.
