Zara McDermott wears a printed costume as she and boyfriend Sam Thompson enjoy their getaway to Barbados

They flew to Barbados this week to enjoy some winter sun.

And Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson were certainly in a tropical mood on Saturday as they stepped out in relaxed ensembles for a day at the beach.

The former Love Island star, 26, wore a printed shorts and t-shirt set while her Made In Chelsea beau, 30, kept the theme going with a pair of bright colored swim trunks.

Catching the sun, the couple were photographed in the parking lot of the stunning Sea Shed beach club and restaurant.

Zara let her blonde tresses fall freely in a tousled straight style while shielding her eyes with black sunglasses.

She slung a large beach bag over her shoulder while she and Sam both stared at their phones.

Sam looked like he was in “vacation mode” as he paired his purple printed pants with a gray tee and light blue Crocs.

The reality star added a pair of sunglasses that sat on a necklace while keeping his blonde tresses tousled.

On the second day of the holiday, the two went on a boat trip and snorkeled in the sea.

Posting a collection of images to Instagram, Zara donned a yellow swimsuit underneath her combination as she soaked up the Caribbean sun.

And it seems to have gone smoother than the first day of the trip, which saw Sam contracting an illness after Zara explained he ate a “dodgy Nandos” at the airport.

The former Celebs Go Dating star needed an injection up her butt to help with the illness and his girlfriend was there to catch the moment.

Zara posted a collection of pictures on Instagram from the start of the holidays including Sam’s injection and wrote: “Barbados Day 1!!! checked into THE most beautiful hotel ever, walked along the beach and ate some delicious pancakes.

“Unfortunately Sam can’t say the same thing… he ate a dodgy Nandos at the airport yesterday and has been paying the price for it ever since and like any good friend I’d call the doctor and take pictures of him in a compromising position getting a shot up his butt.”

“He was starting to feel better so I asked him if he would take some pictures of me in my new dress… he said yes and then conveniently neglected to mention that my lovely M&S knickers were in FULL SHOW.

“I was wondering why I get some funny looks at the beach. I had no idea (last slide… fml) never a dull moment.’
