Zara Tindall beamed with her horse in dressage at the Chatsworth Trials

She is a keen horse rider and Zara Tindall seemed delighted to be back in the saddle when she competed in dressage yesterday.

The king’s niece, 41, wore a riding hat and dressage uniform as she competed in the Chatsworth International Horse Trials in Derbyshire.

An Olympic silver medalist, Zara showed her skills as she entered the arena on her horse Classicals Euro Star. After dressage, she was in ninth place with a score of 31.7.

The King is a serious international equestrian, having won a gold medal at the 2005 European Eventing Championships and a silver medal at the 2006 World Equestrian Games.

And Zara previously won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics as part of the Great Britain Eventing Team.

The mother-of-one was named BBC Sports Personality of the Year and nicknamed the ‘Royal Olympian’.

And while her Olympic career may be behind her, her love of horseback riding shows no signs of waning. After the event, the Queen beamed as she relaxed with her horse.

One picture of the 41-year-old can be seen snuggling up to Classical’s Euro Star, while another can be seen helping the groom.

The event will be followed by another sporting appearance with Zara being photographed at the tenth ISPS Handa Mike Tindall Celebrity Golf Day at the Belfry Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield on Friday.

Zara was spotted with Autumn Philips, her brother’s ex-wife, as they both donned their golf gear to raise money for Cure Parkinsons and the Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports young people seriously injured through sport.

Zara’s husband Mike shared a picture of them in a group alongside Dolly Maude and Natalie Pinkham, who wore identical blue hoodies at the resort.

He captioned the post, “The true MVPs (Most Valuable Players) of the day.”

Autumn and Peter have two daughters together, Savannah, 12, and Isla, 11, who attended the King’s coronation concert with Peter’s girlfriend Lindsay Wallace on Sunday.

Isla and her older sister Savannah live on Princess Anne’s 700-acre Gatcombe Park Estate and are in close proximity to their Tindall cousins ​​- Mia, Lena and Lucas.

Alongside the picture, he wrote a witty caption, which read, “Mike had to beg so much for Zara to have a picture with him was unimaginable.”

The snap showed the smiley couple with their arms crossed in matching black merchandise celebrating the tenth edition of the event.

As Zara competed at Chatsworth, other members of the Royal Horse Show in Windsor were spotted at the event on Saturday.

On Friday she was also there to watch her daughter Lady Louise drive a carriage.

Louise shared her love of carriage driving with Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh, who helped establish the sport in Britain.
